The language of reddicus necksimus

Last night during a game of Tonk, I was introduced to many colorful sayings of the southern homo sapien variety. I believe I could update my research on reddicus necksimus as a result of this terrific evening of behavioral analysis. Let me share my findings with you now if I may:

He was humped over like a burnt boot.

That was as low as whale poo.

I'm outta town, Charlie Brown.

That's as easy as Minute Rice.

In a coon's age

Like water off a duck's back

Needless to say, I will be encouraging the human pet to play cards more often so I can gather more information. It's a win-win situation, don't you think? By the end of summer, just imagine how much research I shall have completed!

I just read your research on reddicus necksimus. Very impressive! I think you needs to submit this as a thesis and be conferred a "Dr." Zeus ;)

Broadening one's education is such a wonderful thing, Zeus!

If you stay alert Zeus, by summer's end you'll have a whole new vocabulary.

humping boots? just what the heck do humans do down there in the south? that sounds, um, painful.

One thing we know for sure. When we come here we get educated. Water off a duck's back is a common saying in the UK but we never heard of the others.

Hmm, would this include such wondrous sayings as "lower than snake spit" and "bizzier than a two peckered billy goat"?

Wow! We've never heard some of those before!

I'm slightly embarrasses to admit that my human has used some of those phrases before.

Very funny! I have a friend from Georgia who calls side dishes, sides. He pronounces it 'saaads'. Cracks me up every time

Hmmmm. Mom says she hasn't heard a lot of those. Does that mean she's not a redneck? I don't think so....
