Curling on your pet's lap may be dangerous to her health

We felines have been accused of possessing all sorts of strange gifts: unique camouflage, keen hearing, and the ability to heal with our purrs. In truth, we all know better. That's just how we are, but throw in the fact that homo sapiens enjoy attaching meaning to meaningless occurrences, and you have yourself the stuff of myth and legend.

Case in point: Oscar (seen above) of Providence, Rhode Island.

Lately, Oscar seems to be having quite the effect on the elderly homo sapiens. You see, every time Oscar decides to curl up on the lap of a hospice patient, the patient passes away within four hours. Don't believe it? Well, apparently, 25 times in a row is enough for the homo sapiens to say, "Hey! This cat may be onto something!"

Is this what scientists call 'pattern-seeking behavior'?

Today, I am going to try to see if I can score an interview with Oscar, but I suspect he may be busy.

After all: It's hard work being the harbinger of death.

Please don't let Oscar come visit our human. She's the only one we have!

Ok, now ya annoyed Mom now, and all my sisfurs are having to sit on her to keep her from clackity clakin away on the keyboard here. I promised her I'd type this for her tho: Hospice is a tuff job for humans, and if a cat can help, that's cool. Or something like that. Once she cools off, she'll admit it's a funny parody type joke tho. Or else I'll make her chew kitty litter. Gotta run, Sanjee's losing her grip on Mom's leg.

Hospice is indeed a tough job. My human pet volunteered in a hospice while in college, and it was one of the most rewarding experiences of her life. The point to this post, however, was that coincidences do not necessarily mean anything. I do apologize to your mom if she took it the wrong way.

Zeus, Oh it's ok. Once she read it again she got it and said it was funny. Silly bean! She's just slow sometimes. hehe
