Out with the old, and in with the new
This may be the last time you get to see us on my throne because...
I'm finally getting a new living room set!
What's that you say? I'm not the one buying it so it can't be mine? Pardon me, but I think you're misled. As soon as this new living room set comes into this house, I'm all over it - literally and figuratively.
Tonight, the human pet, on one of her rare evenings with nothing to do, is going to pick up my new furniture and bring it to The House. With her knack for decorating, I'm sure it won't take long for the new room to be put together. Wait a minute: She's looking at me as if she has something to say...
"Note to Zeus: It probably won't be coming until Saturday, and no, I won't be putting it together for you. It's for me."
Semantics, schmantiks. Some people...
I think the more hair you leave on items indicates the higher the level of ownership you have over the item. If you're with me, raise your paw.

My cat Bob shares your philosophy Zeus... I share your Human Pet's however! :-)
Pooh seems to agree with you. His hair is all over my microfiber couch, and often tries to kick me off of it. :)
Will your human pet post a pic of the new furniture so we can oooooh and awwww over her decorating skills?
i dropped over from Bone's blog just to rub it in--I'm a Pirate fan--I think you know what I mean! ;)
The quantity-of-hair principle is well known to many of us felines. Your human needs a little attitude adjustment I think. But maybe humor her for a few days and let her think you are respecting the new furniture as "hers". Then when her guard is down, take over!
we raise 4 paws in solidarity! you should see the new couch mommy gotted last Oktober - it's ours now - it has meezer furs all ofurr it!
Chey falls on her side trying to raise all four paws...
but, why do they create cat furniture then?
Twelve paws raised here! And the pet-hair-i-own-it thing is sooo true! Yep. we own everything, now that we think of it!
Four paws raised here. You are so right.
oh, by the way Zeus, Mommy wants to "kiss that sweet face" - RUN FAST buddy!!!
I think occupancy = ownership. So just who will occupy the new throne (sofa) for the greater part of the day...you or your Pet? The answer is obvious and I rest my case.
George
In honor of your theory, Zeus, Brach and I wrestled on the couch early this morning and left chunks...yes, CHUNKS of our fur all over it.
Who owns our couch now, Agent?!
Gotta love new furniture! So much material, so little marking/face rubbing time! :D
