Requesting puppy control

Attention homo sapien, feline, and canine friends! I humbly request your advice:

It would seem that we have a slight problem here at The House. You see, the neighbors that live behind The House recently acquired two young Labrador Retriever puppies: one black, one chocolate, both approximately 3 months old. At first, I didn't mind the yapping and howling that occured from morning until dusk. In fact, I felt incredibly bad for the young puppies since it was terribly hot in the City of Outside, and I couldn't understand why they were being left in the yard to fend for themselves. However, it seems that these two young lads have decided that MY yard is also THEIR yard.

Enter into the evidence Exhibit A:

This is the fence that stands between MY yard and THEIR yard. Note the hole that has been broken into the weak planks of wood. This is their entry point into my domain.

Enter into the evidence Exhibit B:

This was my human pet's only attempt at harnessing the diminishing powers of her somewhat green (though to be accurate, it is more black than green) thumb. This poor pineapple plant suffered the wrath of these puppies as they shredded its once lovely leaves. They left it toppled over and ravaged, all the while yipping and barking their pleasure.

What in the world am I to do? Where can I find justice?

Old Cat Proverb (I think)
A fence is only as strong as it's weakest link....or something like that.

Momma thinks your furless one needs to have a talk with the woffies furless ones. See, that is why cats are so much better than woffies. I rest my case.

Not being a big fan of dogs myself, I can sympathize with your problem. We have 3 Golden Retrievers next door, but luckily they stay in their own yard. But if they came in MINE, I'd have to have a word with their people...politely at first, then not so politely if it happened again!

We think the Patches Lady has the right idea. Who owns the fence?

To paraphrase Arthur Baer "A good neighbor is a puppy who smiles at you over the back fence, but doesn't climb over it (or under it)".

Oh no. Evil Doggies! Did they leave little poopie fings ofur yur yard too? Yuck.

we fink patches is right - your human pet needs to talk to their human pet - and also 'splain to them that it's not healthy for puppies to be outside in the hot hot heat.

Hmmm...did you tell the owners that first of all, it's too hot to leave any dog outside, especially puppies, and that they need to reinforce their fence?

I would be so mad at them for leaving their puppies outside!!! It's too hot!

Justice is a hammer, nails, and a large board to cover the hole with.

What if you took the plant and placed it in front of the hole in the fence... that way, at least the plant can have its revenge ;)

Zeus said...

I actually like the plant idea, TigerSan. It's subtle, but not too much! I think I may ask the human pet to do that tomorrow!

"Cats rule Dogs drool" LOL Did anyone ever watch that movie? OMG now I cant even think of the name of it, sheeeesh!

I agree with indypindy by the way, it's way to hot to leave ANY household pet outside!! And doggy owners dont take offense at my last comment please, I equally love cats AND dogs!

Wow leaving 2 puppies out in this heat is insane. As for your fence I agree your mommy should try talking with the ownwers of the puppies.I mean there puppies now but they grow fast and the damage will only get worst.

Well, keep in mind that they are dogs, which means they're not as smart as you, Zeus. I think your mom needs to beat up their mom. ;) Or just talk to her.

PS: I emailed the linky code to you, in case it goes to your spam folder.

Oh we had that problem too. Course the Wolfie next door wouldn't then know how to get out of our yard until someone came and got him and so his owner would come get him and fixed the hole. We are furry glad.

Somefurry one will have to hurry and fix dat big hole in the fence so the woofies don't come back to your yard Zeus. We don't want to hear that they are barking mad at your back door!

Yes it would have been, and now it will never happen! Poor human pet...is there any plant she can grow without it turning out to be some natural disaster?

Ah poor kitty. We too have suffered the indignant invasion of our yard by the neighboring wolfies. It seems that their one psycho dog can't end an argument without having the last word and then some. When our Lillypooch goes outside and their dog is out he immediately begins to yell at her for no good reason. And then when Lillypooch goes back inside psycho dog continues his argument and to make his point clear eats his way threw the fence and enters our yard...along with his accomplices. Luckily the neighbor has repaired the fence with new planks and no complaint. But what has really worked is for us to leave a large 8x4x4 in front of the fence...it could be that the neighbor has also put up some sort of blocking device on his side as we are sure that he does not enjoy continual replacement of our fence.
So I'm sure that some communication between the humans is all that is necessary.
But I have to ask..."Why have animals if not to enjoy their company in your den?"

Zeus said...

Thanks for the great advice, Renee! Isis and I are strictly indoor cats, and so we watch what happens in the backyard when my human pet is away. My human pet has taken note of how often the puppies are left outside, but she never finds these neighbors to speak to them. They always come out when she is inside, and she's always outside when they're inside.

My human pet agrees with you though concerning animals being enjoyed inside the den. It doesn't make a lot of sense for any feline, canine, rabbit, etc. to be outside for show.

Oh NO! Encroachment upon feline property... SHAMELESS! As the owner of a black lab I can understand your plight. Perhaps if you toss the driver of the minivan over the fence, the pups would prefere to play with him than your human pet's fine greenery! Just a thought.

Miss Wendy is considering a MOVIE about this, from what I hear!

Oh no, poor little Zeus! I think its my dogs that live behind you! LOL Ok not really, but I feel for you. I had a dog that used to do that and torment the neighbors cat. It wasnt pretty! Wendy sent me again!

Oh no Zeus! My mom had a problem with human children taking down her fence to build a fort and then their parent's complained when my mom's dog would wander over.

I think you need to send in "The Russian" to help you with your problem :D

Please tell me you get that refrence LOL

My human pet spewed out her Diet Coke, but I didn't get it. I think she did.

She says since she's Italian, she's pretty sure she can handle it on her own. (Yeah right!)

Renee Nefe said...

Zeus, Darly also reads your blog & the comments and she did not understand "The Russian" in that comment...so I explained it to her and now we have to see the movie.

Since you did not get it either, I would highly suggest that you see the movie "Cats & Dogs"...however, the ending is not so good for cats so maybe you would rather see another movie instead.
