When the human pet
has that look in her eyeMy hair stands on end
and secretly, I begin to cry
The blue and white bottle:
harbinger of despair.
As soon as I spot it,
I haven't got a prayer.
The human pet is too cowardly
and won't do the deed.
She hands the bottle to the future mate,
with a mere beg, a small plead.
He walks over to me,
slowly but surely,
but my ears shoot back
as I spot the bottle prematurely.
Dash off the couch!
Run for the garage!
Ricochet off the walls!
Escape this barrage!
Caught by his strong arms
and held on the couch:
I try to struggle viciously,
but he holds on tight to my pouch.
In go the drops,
seeping down my ears.
My heart thuds against my chest
as the liquid rinses, swishes, and smears.
Rub with the paper towels
and expose gunk, the color of pitch.
My head starts spinning,
and my eartips violently twitch.
Finally, it's over!
Jump, land, break for a private corner!
Give the future mate the look,
treat him like a foreigner.
I hate you Epi-Otic!
I hate you through and through!
Curse these allergies to hell and back,
and curses to you too!

Ewwwwwwww. That sounds icky. Sorry you gotta get your ears dropped, Zeus.
At least you went down fighting!
Zeus, I feel your pain. When Cheese and I were baby poodins we had to have that done every day for almost a month. We were very sick babies and the ears were the least of our troubles. But, for as sick as we were we fought like little 1 pound bundles of fury. The beans always won though cause they ganged up on us.
Oh, and I left a letter for you on my page.
I want to poligize for saying you was blowing hot air, Zeus.....It was just a little warm. MOm though I was way rude. I am sorry.

Oh! That sounds awful. I would put the bite on anyone who tried to do that to me. Reow!
Poor Poor Zeus. We hadded to have ear drops when we was babies, but not since. Mommy has to have nose spray for her 'lergies.
Poor Zeus. What are your ears allergic to that they have to have drops in them?
I think your human pet may be getting back at you, Zeus. Now, I wouldn't be a friend or a very good Empress if I didn't tell you this, but I think the human pet is trying to point out with these eardrops that you have very large and infectious ears.
Please don't hate me... ;)
Yuck, yuck, yuck. Ear drops are the WORST! I had ear mites about 18 months ago and I had to have ear drops for about a month, because they didn't clear up straight away. I hated it! You are a good poet though Zeus!
Brother Zeus, I feel your pain.
Creatively condemning ear drops -- and a marvelous job you did, too. I hope the drops make your ears better, and that venting makes your soul feel better.
Zeus, you are a wonderful poet. What heartfelt emotion! What colorful phrases! We're so impressed. And also so sorry for those d*** allergies.
Poor Zeus. We feel so sorry for you. We've never had to have ear drops, thank goodness. It sounds horrible. We're impressed by your poetic talent under such stress. A sign of true greatness.
Are you feeling better today Zeus? We enjoyed meeting you at Gemini's party
Uggghh! Mommy has to keep puttin icky gooey stuff in my eaahs too. Eifer that or I keeps rubbing my eaahs all over efurryting. We tinks its the allegies to my food so now we gets to eat just canned stinky goodness. Keep your eaahs down an maybe the stuff won't go in.
Poor Zeus! I'd hate having stuff in my ears.
Just wanted to stop by and say thanks for your kind words about Dora.
Great blog!
Our Miniature Poodle has huge beautiful ear leathers. He has had so many infections that he has lost his hearing in one of his ears from a ruptured ear drum he had to have cleaned out. Epi Otic is not cheap when you have to use it on a regular basis. Does anyone know of a way to make it yourself?
