Zeus... I think you should call them Excuses instead of Reasons

Zeus said...

The reason I didn't label them excuses was to make the point that these were supposed "justified reasons" to other people. I'm not stating that I agree with them as "reasons".

we agree wif mia and ghost - they are excuses. trixie said that mommy moved several times just 'acause the landlord decided that cats were not welcome. she said mommy tolded her that there would nevfurr be a reason that she would efurr give any poodin up.

Oh, Zeus, did she go to the shelter to get you another sister or a brother? I never go to those places myself.

Here in Minnesota, we have a real problem with too many kittens ending up in shelters because irresponsible humans let their cats cat around unsupervised, if you know what I mean.

She went to the SPCA because the human pet wants a puppy, and she has been doing a lot of research on which breeds would do well with felines. She knows what she would like to find and is hoping that luck will be on her side in this regard.

However, she was heartbroken, angered, and completely overwhelmed by the these so-called "reasons" stated on the cards to each animal's cage. It was eye-opening to her how a human will justify his/her line of logic in leaving an animal to that type of fate.

We certainly didn't mean to imply ya'll agreed with them. Hope your human pet finds a good woofie. Mom said she can't bear to go into humane society or any other shelter cause she wants to take everyone home!

Oh, Mia and Ghost, I'm glad you said something because it made me think, "Goodness, I hope people don't think I actually agree with this!" and modify the title. I didn't take offense to it, and the human pet didn't either! ;)

That's awful. I don't understand some beans at all. My woofie came from the SPCA. I don't know why he was put there. I only knew him a short time, but he was a good woofie to me, even though he was literally 10 times my size. I hope your lady pet finds a good woofie there.

Mum remembers reading things like these on the kittie cards when she was looking for a kittie last year.

Some you can understand, if an owner dies you hope the woofie or poodin gets a new chance.

I am a good example, my firsted owner couldn't take me with them when they went to a nursing home. But I was lucky, I gots a wonderful home now.

It never ceases to amaze me how many ignorant people are out there adopting animals. It's sad! People just treat them like property instead of part of the family. And then discard them when they are tired of them. Or all to often abandon or neglect them! I could vent all day about ignorant people who have pets!

Humans are stupid. It's that simple. Well, mine isn't too stupid. At least she made sure we'll all be taken care of in case something happens to both the Mom and the Dad.

Our Mommy says that people deliberately go out and get pets, and that if the humans aren't going to be good to the little things they should leave them at the shelter. At the shelter where our Mommy volunteers they have some posters up making fun of some of these reasons--but in the poster the animal is taking the human back to the shelter for these excuses.

This is so sad. I think our kitties may have been the result of an unwanted litter. We would rather move than give them up! They are family!

Thanks for the kitty scrapbook link!

I don't which of the reasons Beau and Angie were at the shelter but I'm just so grateful that I found them. I'd love to take even more but that's not possible right now. The bottom line is that it is so sad that they end up there to begin with. Then on the other hand, thankfully there are shelters with "no kill" policies out there for them to go. Otherwise they'd just be wandering the street or worse.

our Lady volunteers at a shelter an says that lotsa the people put down "allergic" as the "reason". we know some people are really lergic an get really sick fur real but those people don't get pets in the furrst place cause they knows they's lergic. the people droppin off their pets use it as an excuse cause they think it sounds like a good one. we all live in a place where the lanlord says NO CATS but our Lady will move if the lanlord finds out. plus, the oldest girl is lergic but she would rather take pills fur her runny nose an put medicine on her rash than live wifout us.

our Lady says to tell you she's really happy she finally was able to get to your site cause she had a problem wif her firewall (that sounds scary!) cause it didn't like the name of your bloggie cause when you type out zeusexcuse there's a word in the middle there that the firewall thinks is bad but she got around it cause we's been wantin ta visit you, an so HI!

I agree with mia and ghost...all excuses. When do people start to take responsibility for their pets? I can get so angry about those things!!!
